World Championship Update

In Wuhan, China, the World Championships are drawing to to a close. With half a match left to determine the medalists, most all of the teams are in a tight race.
Vying for the Bermuda Bowl (open teams) title, the Netherlands leads Poland by a single IMP — 91-90. In the playoff for the bronze medal, Norway holds a 6-IMP advantage over USA1, 98-92.
The Swedish Women’s team is up over China in the quest for gold in the Venice Cup (Women’s teams), 111-102. The Netherlands and England are battling for third place on the podium; the Netherlands hold on to a 5-IMP edge, leading 107-102.
England and Denmark are competing for the d’Orsi Trophy (Senior teams). Denmark is in front 96-78. India and the Netherlands are dueling for bronze, with India on top 102-98.
In the Wuhan Cup (mixed pairs), Russia enjoys an 85-74 advantage over USA1. Eyeing the bronze medal, Romania has some breathing room: They lead England, 132-76.
Championship play concludes Saturday, Sept. 28.
