Dutch duos prevail in IMP Pairs

Dutch players Tim Van De Paverd and Luc Tijssen won the Lebhar IMP Pairs, posting a final score of 83.31 IMPs. It was the first NABC victory for the duo, who have played in several NABC contests.

In second place with 76.88 IMPs were fellow countrymen Guy Mendes De Leon and Thibo Sprinkhuizen.

Van De Paverd and Tijssen qualified 19th after Sunday’s openig round; Mendes De Leon and Sprinkhuizen stood 26th.

The four players – all friends – came to the U.S. to play in the Jacoby Open Swiss Teams later this week as part of Allison Wilson’s squad, and they’re even sharing hotel accommodations during their stay in Reno.

In third with 75.65 IMPs was Jacek Pszczola of Chapel Hill NC and May Sakr of Weston FL.
