Child Care

Bring the kids along!

NABC Child Care Services are provided during the afternoon and evening sessions for the first Friday through the second Sunday including the national and regional events on the second Sunday. Special arrangements may be made for Morning KOs and Fast Pair events. Dinner and after hour sessions are also available.

The caregiver/child ratio is one caregiver for every three-five children (depending on the ages). The children’s ages range from 3 months to 10 years of age. Additionally, there is a “Junior Sitter Program” for children 11-13. Babies three months to one year require a one-to-one ratio.

Age-appropriate toys, games, books, activities, computer programs, music, arts and crafts, dramatic play and movies are provided. Field trips are planned throughout the week. There is a Pizza Party between sessions on Thursday and a Sleepover Party on the second Saturday. There are also bridge lessons and play prior to and during the evening sessions for those children interested in learning the game.

The cost is $25 per (bridge) session for the first two children and $40 per (bridge) session for three-four children. Babies three months to one year are $40 per (bridge) session.

Transportation

Getting Downtown from Toronto Pearson International Airport

All services to downtown are available from both airport terminals (T1 and T3).  Except for UP Express, allow extra time if you’ll be travelling during the heaviest traffic, weekdays 6-9 am and 4-7 pm.

Union Pearson Express:  The Union Pearson Express connects Union Station in downtown Toronto with Pearson International Airport in 25 minutes, with trains running every 15 minutes from 5:30 am to 1 am. Trains have ample luggage space, free WiFi, and power ports at every seat.

Tickets from as low as $6 CAD one-way.  Please visit their site for more information  https://www.upexpress.com/Tickets/Tickets

Getting to the train:

  • From the airport’s Terminal 1, follow the signs for “Trains”; the train station is attached to the parking garage and is reachable without going outdoors.
  • From the airport’s Terminal 3, follow the signs for the LINK Train to Terminal 1 (again, reachable without going outdoors). When you arrive at the Terminal 1 station, the UP Express platform is immediately adjacent to the LINK Train platform, up a small ramp.

Paying for the train:

  • Fares can be purchased online or at ticket machines or service counters in the stations.
  • Cheaper fares are available if using a PRESTO fare card (the cost drops to $9 one-way). You can buy a PRESTO card for $6 from the service counters in the UP Express stations, and use it immediately for the train – this would save you $6 per adult on an UP Express round-trip. However, because PRESTO is not yet accepted at most subway stations or on most streetcars, most visitors wouldn’t be able to use a PRESTO card as their primary way of paying for public transit in the city.

The full fare structure and more details can be found on the  Union Pearson Express website.

Taxis

Airport Taxi and Minivans Time:30 to 60 minutes For more information please click here: https://www.torontopearson.com/en/toandfrom/taxilimo/#

Follow signs to the taxi queue where licensed drivers will pick you up. Do not business with drivers who approach you inside the airport. Credit cards are generally accepted, debit cards less so, but always best to check with the driver in advance.
