Titanic Artifact Exhibition

titanic

Described as a floating palace, the Titanic was deemed “unsinkable” by the White Star Line and its builders. But one cold night in April of 1912, the massive luxury liner struck an iceberg and slowly sank into the North Atlantic. Of the 2,228 passengers on board, more than 1,500 of them died. Since then, many items have been recovered and added to this 25,000-square-foot exhibit at the Luxor. Visitors can see passengers’ luggage, unopened bottles of champagne and part of the ship’s hull. You can even walk through recreated first- and third-class rooms featuring authentic furnishings. Read the list of passengers and find social activist Molly Brown and Jacob Astor IV, who built the Astoria Hotel in New York, among the immigrants who boarded the ship in hopes of a better life in America.
