In an effort to recognize all those who work so tirelessly to promote and sustain the game we all love, the ACBL would like to recognize teachers and club officials who reach recruitment milestones throughout the year.</i></p>]]></description><link>http://www.acbl.org/news_archive.php?id=726</link></item><item><title>Tobias Stone (1919-2012)</title><description><![CDATA[<p>Tobias Stone, a member of the ACBL Bridge Hall of Fame and co-creator of the famous Roth-Stone bidding system, died Wednesday in Las Vegas after a brief illness. He was 92. Stone was originally from New York, where he made his name in the company of top players such as Harold Harkavy, George Rapee and Alvin Roth, with whom he formed a longtime partnership. Stone won 14 North American championships and in 1956 was ACBLs top masterpoint winner. He retired to Nevada in 1986. Her first day was largely dedicated to meeting with department managers and directors to discuss how ACBL staff and the Board of Directors can work more closely together to accomplish the strategic goals of the organization. Anderson also made time to visit each department and say hello to all the staff that makes running this Member-driven organization possible.</p>]]></description><link>http://www.acbl.org/news_archive.php?id=720</link></item><item><title>Bridge Players Donated More Than a Quarter Million in 2011</title><description><![CDATA[<p>Last year, ACBL Members participated in more than 14,000 Charity Games at their local clubs. The money earned from these special games benefits the ACBL Charity Foundation in their effort to make a difference in the local communities of the ACBL Members.
