World Champion Creates The Longest Day Success

With a goal of $25,000, the Bridge Academy of North Dallas is poised to be one of the top fundraising teams for The Longest Day. Well over a third of the way to their goal, BANDs game sponsorship approach to fundraising has already proven successful.

Womens and Senior Team Trials

The U.S. Womens Bridge Championship (USWBC) and U.S. Senior Bridge Championship (USSBC) will select the USA squads that will compete for the 2013 Venice Cup and the 2013 Senior Bowl in Bali, Indonesia, Sept. 16-30.

Bridge Part of Stanford Splash

In Californias Silicon Valley, a small group recently took its first step in building a comprehensive youth bridge program at an event called Stanford Splash.

Small Club - Big Ambition

As one of the smallest clubs running ACBL sanctioned games only two to three tables one day per week the High Desert Hands Bridge Club has big ambitions for The Longest Day. In addition to bridge, the team plans to have food and other outdoor activities for participants.

Director of Strategy Named

The ACBL announces the promotion of Pat Rogoski to the position of Director of Strategy. Reporting to the CEO, the ACBL Director of Strategy will work with all levels of the organization --- Membership, Clubs and Volunteer groups --- as the driving force responsible for creating and nurturing a strategic culture at the ACBL.

Turning Purple from Coast to Coast

Less than a month into registration and sixty ACBL teams have already pledged to participate in The Longest Day. From California to New Brunswick clubs are planning marathon duplicate bridge games, social bridge gatherings, bake sales and a myriad of other activities all to raise funds for the Alzheimers Association.

Joan Levy Gerard 1935-2013

Joan Levy Gerard, a top bridge administrator for the ACBL and the World Bridge Federation for more than three decades, died on Thursday at her home in White Plains NY. She was 77.
