U.S. Bridge Championships Swing into Action
Sixteen teams are assembled in Orlando to determine who will represent the USA later this year in international competition. USA1 and USA2 will travel to Bali, Indonesia in September to contend for the 2013 Bermuda Bowl.
Hosted by the U.S. Bridge Federation, the trial format opens today with a round robin among the six lowest-seeded teams. Four of those teams will advance to the round of 16 on Saturday. Vugraph coverage starts Saturday afternoon on BBO. Go to www.bridgebaseonline.com to consult the schedule for your timezone and watch the action.
After the round of 16, the USA1 bracket will continue with two-day quarterfinal, semi-final and final stages, concluding on Saturday, June 8th. The losers from the round of 16 — and if they wish, the two lowest finishers in the round robin — will play for the USA2 spot.
