2013 Youth NABC & World Open Youth Bridge Championships
This August, young players from around the world will meet in Atlanta GA to play bridge against their peers in two exciting back-to-back tournaments.
The ACBL is pleased to announce that the 2013 Youth North American Bridge Championships and the World Open Youth Bridge Championships will be held in Atlanta Aug. 1–11, concurrent with the Summer NABC.
It has been more than 20 years since the last open world youth event has taken place in the United States, and the joint contests are being co-sponsored by the ACBL, the World Bridge Federation, the United States Bridge Federation and the Canadian Bridge Federation.
ACBL Members 19 and younger are eligible to compete in the three-day Youth NABC, Aug. 1–3. With pair events, Swiss team events and beginner events, players will compete for scholarships, masterpoints and trophies. This event is free to all ACBL Members.
On Aug. 3, a Youth NABC Closing Ceremony will be combined with the World Open Youth Bridge Championships Opening Ceremony.
Bridge players from around the world, born 1988 or later, are eligible to participate in the 10-day Youth world championship event, Aug. 3–11. Events include pairs, Swiss teams and board-a-match teams.
To help make this a success, the ACBL is paying half of the entry for all ACBL Members from the United States, Canada or Mexico. The ACBL will also assist those in need of additional resources by contacting local units and districts to help young players attend this event.
Additional information about the schedules, hotel and registration for both events can be found at www.youth4bridge.org.
Please encourage your local Youth and Junior players to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
