Hurricane Sandy Charity Games January 20-25
Hurricane Sandy made landfall near Atlantic City, NJ on Monday evening, October 29, 2012. Sandy affected the entire northeastern US with devastating winds, rain and floods. New Jersey and New York suffered the worst from the superstorm and many our clubs and Members were affected. The clean up and recovery is expected to take years.
The ACBL is doing their part to assist with the relief effort of Hurricane Sandy. Between Sunday, January 20 and Friday, January 25 clubs may hold ôlocalö charity games during any of their regularly sanctioned sessions.
Not only does this mean you may have the opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause while playing bridge, but it also means more masterpoints! To kick start the relief efforts, the ACBL Charity Foundation has already made a $3,000 donation.
With the possibility of holding a charity game during any regularly sanctioned session that week, we hope every club will take the opportunity to participate. Check with your club to see if they plan to join in the weeklong Hurricane Sandy charity games.
