George Pisk 1932 ľ 2012
George Pisk, one of the leading players of the Southwest and a Platinum Life Master, died March 30 at his home in Manchaca TX. He was 79.
Pisk, a native of Austria, moved to the United States shortly before World War II. He became a U.S. citizen in 1946 and served in the U.S. armed forces in Europe after the war. He was educated at Yale University and the University of Texas, earning a PhD in Renaissance English literature at the latter institution. At the time of his death, he had nearly 17,000 masterpoints to his credit. He was a member of the second-place team in the Keohane North American Swiss Teams in 2001.
