Official 75th Anniversary Celebration Planned for Memphis NABC

75th Anniversary logo

Join the American Contract Bridge League in celebration of its 75th Anniversary at the Spring NABC in Memphis, TN. Friday night, March 16, at the Memphis Marriott Downtown the ACBL will have its first official anniversary celebration, complete with a champagne toast, cake, and souvenir appliqués for all Members in attendance.

To jump start the festivities – and we do mean JUMP – one of Memphis’ most popular acts, The Beale Street Flippers, will perform from 10:30 p.m. – 11:15 p.m. On most nights you can find this act on legendary Beale Street astonishing crowds with feats of acrobatic prowess. You may have seen them as semi-finalist on “America’s Got Talent,” in the movie “The Firm,” or performing as NBA halftime entertainment across the country, but on March 16 you will see them up close and personal at our 75th Anniversary Celebration!

Following the Flippers, one of the best blues singers in the city, Reba Russell and her band will perform from 11:15 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. Memphis is known for its musical heritage and the Reba Russell Band is one of the best modern examples of the city’s blues culture. A five-piece electric blues band featuring original songs, the Reba Russell Band has traveled the world for 20 years playing festivals in North American and Europe. Reba is touted as having one of the most moving female voices in modern blues, and the ACBL is pleased to have the Reba Russell Band to entertain for the 75th Anniversary Celebration!

In addition to the evening festivities on March 16, a free tour will be available of the Hall of Fame and Bridge Museum at the ACBL Headquarters in nearby Horn Lake, MS beginning the morning of Friday, March 16 through Saturday, March 24. A shuttle will depart the Memphis Cook Convention Center at 9:00 a.m. daily and will leave Headquarters by 11:30 a.m. – plenty of time for the 1:00 pm session. Transportation and the tour are free of charge. As always, the Bridge Museum is open weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The ACBL is excited to celebrate our 75th Anniversary with its most valuable asset – the Members! See you in Memphis!
