Seattle 2011 marked the first NABC for our new CEO, Robert Hartman. After a going away party for Jay “Boss” Baum, Robert began tackling the myriad of jobs that an ACBL CEO must conquer.
I had hoped to interview Robert at some point during the NABC, but I never could quite pin down that whirlwind of energy. Between consulting with staff, greeting players from around the world, meeting with youth and juniors, business with the ACBL board, and much more, Robert simply ran out of time. I’ll aim for Memphis in 2012 for an in-depth chat with our new CEO.
Of course, Robert plays bridge, too. I captured Robert the last day of the tournament, analyzing one of many tough hands.
Speaking of “tough” – the role of an ACBL CEO isn’t an easy one. After the fine efforts of Jay Baum the bar is set high for Robert. I am confident, however, that Robert will rule magnificently!
