U.S. Bermuda and Senior Bowl Squads Score Silver
Two of the U.S. squads medaled at the World Championships in Veldhoven, Netherlands.
In the final of the Bermuda Bowl on Saturday, the USA 2 team was defeated by the Dutch 300–255 to finish second in what originally was a field of 22 teams. Playing for USA 2 were Kevin Bathurst, Daniel Zagorin, Joe Grue, Justin Lall, Joel Wooldridge, John Hurd and npc Curtis Cheek. The Dutch team is Sjoert Brink, Bas Drijver, Bauke Muller, Ricco van Prooijen, Louk Verhees, Simon de Wijs and npc Eric Laurant.
Also claiming the second-place tier on the podium was one of the American senior teams. In the d’Orsi Senior Bowl, France narrowly defeated USA 2 Friday by the score of 165–160. The U.S. lineup: Larry Kozlove, Gaylor Kasle, Peter Boyd, Steve Robinson, Neil Chambers, John Schermer and npc Donna Compton. Playing for France: Patrick Grenthe, Guy Lasserre, Francois Leenhardt, Patrice Piganeau, Philippe Poizat, Philippe Vanhoutte and npc Philippe Cronier.
