News from the World Championships in Veldhoven

The round-robin phase of the world championships continues. With 16 out of 21 rounds complete, six North American squads are cruising toward qualification berths in the knockout phase which begins Sunday.

In the Bermuda Bowl, USA 2 is in third place behind Italy and the Netherlands. Israel is fourth and USA 1 is fifth. The top eight places (out of 22 total) advance to the quarterfinal round.

In the Venice Cup, England leads the round-robin, with USA 2 next, followed by USA 1. The Canadian Women’s team is in 11th place, but very close (just 3 victory points) to the all-important 8-spot.

In the d’Orsi Senior Bowl, Denmark is in first, USA 2 is second and USA 1 is third.
