Diamond Squad Captures Rosenblum Cup
In Wednesday’s action in the World Bridge Series Championships in Philadelphia, the team captained by John Diamond defeated Nick Nickell’s squad 121-78 in the final of the World Open Knockout Teams for the Rosenblum Cup.
The winners are Diamond, Brian Platnick, Fred Gitelman, Brad Moss, Geoff Hampson and Eric Greco.
It was the second big win for Diamond this year. The team won the Spingold Knockout Teams at the ACBL’s Summer NABC in New Orleans.
Nickell, reigning Bermuda Bowl champs, played with Ralph Katz, Jeff Meckstroth, Eric Rodwell, Bob Hamman and Zia Mahmood.
The Pierre Zimmermann team won the playoff for the bronze medal over the Jeff Wolfson squad.
