It'll Never Catch On
On May 24, 1935, Bridge World magazine editor Albert Morehead wrote a rejection letter for a proposed article written by Easley Blackwood. There would be no change in the Culbertson System recommended by the magazine - thus, "the four-notrump bid will remain informative rather than an interrogative bid." Interestingly, had Morehead accepted the article, we'd all be playing "Wormwood" to ask for aces. Read Blackwood's query letter to Bridge World.
