Half A Century

The Vero Beach (Florida) Bridge Center celebrated its 50th anniversary recently. There was a bridge game followed by a wine and cheese affair. Many of the club’s 800 members attended as well as local dignitaries including Vero Beach Mayor Sabin Abell. Nece Buckle was chair of the event.

The highlight of the celebration was special recognition of players who had been members for 25 years or more. Eleven of them are shown in the photos below. Also shown is David Lambie, the club’s youngest member. He is in his twenties, and hopes to attend the 100th Anniversary.
