Teen Earns Gold Card
Former pre-teen scholarship winner Nicholas Flores of Portland OR became a Life Master on Sept. 2, earning his last .71 black points at the Eastside Bridge Club. Now 14, Flores brought home his gold card playing with 72-year-old Bill Naylor. Flores was the 2004 recipient of the $5000 Homer J. Shoop Scholarship, which will be awarded when he enters college. Flores was introduced to the game by proud grandparents Jack and Dorothy Marsh of Portland.
