World Transnational Open Teams
Even if you didnĺt qualify in a team trials, you can play in the world championships scheduled this year for Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The World Transnational Open Teams will take place during the second week of the tournament, which runs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 12. The Transnational teams will begin on Monday, Sept. 7. The format will be Swiss teams, 10-board matches for 15 qualifying rounds. The knockout phase, starting with quarterfinals, will begin Thursday, Sept. 10. The event will conclude on Saturday, Sept. 12.
The championships will take place at the five-star Hotel Transamerica, with other accommodations available in the Transamerica Flat Nacoes Unidas.Players in good standing with their national bridge organizations are eligible to participate. There are no country quotas, and teams may be made up of players from any countries.Registration will be open through the start of the tournament, subject to availability. Players eliminated from the Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup or Senior Teams will be eligible to play in the TNOT.
