Milner Earns Trip to Beijing

The team captained by Reese Milner dominated the fourth quarter of their Senior Team Trials match with the John Onstott squad, winning 143-73 to earn the right to represent the United States in the Senior International Cup in Beijing, China, starting Oct. 3. The competition will be part of the World Mind Sports Games.

Milner played with Grant Baze. Their teammates were Russ Ekeblad-Matt Granovetter and Billy Eisenberg-Sam Lev.

Onstott played with Drew Casen. Their teammates were Bobby Wolff and Dan Morse.

The tournament was played in Sturbridge MA under the auspices of the United States Bridge Federation.

Milner took the lead after the first quarter 33-12, but Onstott came back with a44-6 second set to lead 56-39 at the half. Milner won the third quarter 43-12 to lead by 18 with 15 deals to play. They poured it on in the fourth quarter with a 61-5 drubbing to win going away.
