Cavendish Adds Open Contests

For the first time in its history, the Cavendish Invitational, the world's largest money bridge tournament, will offer events open to all comers — one for pairs and one for teams. The events will run in conjunction with the invitation-only Cavendish Pairs tournament, which runs from May 9 to 13 at the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Las Vegas.

The invitational tournament was launched at the Cavendish Club in New York in 1975 and has been managed by World Bridge Productions (co-founded by Bob Hamman) since the club closed in the mid-Nineties.
