Jack Mehrens

Veteran tournament director Jack Mehrens died Dec. 11 at his home in Corpus Christi TX. He was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis earlier in 2006. He was 79. One of the ACBL's most popular TDs, Mehrens was known for his cheerful demeanor and ready smile. He was active in Unit 187 (South Texas), serving in a number of capacities for the unit board.
