Driving to Boston?

If you plan to drive to Boston and park a car you should be aware that parking in town is difficult and expensive. An alternative is to park at one of the parking lots adjacent to an MBTA station and complete your travel on the MBTA subway system.  The lots are for the most part covered, the rate is just $5/day and you can park for a week (or longer).  Note that during peak hours (weekdays between 8am and noon) the lots are often full.  If you are traveling from the South Shore or Cape, there are lots at the Quincy, Quincy Adams and Braintree subway stops.  From there you should take an inbound Red Line train to Park Street Station and change to any outbound Green Line train and take it to Copley Station.  If you are traveling from the West (Mass turnpike), there are parking lots at Riverside and Woodland Station.  From there you should take an inbound Green Line train to Copley Station. If you are traveling from the West on Rte 2 you should park at Alewife station and take an inbound train to Park Street Station and change to any outbound Green Line train and take it to Copley Station.  If you are traveling from the North, you can park at Wonderland or Wellington and take an inbound Orange Line train to Back Bay Station.
