Rose Meltzer’s Breakfast with the Stars

Rose Meltzer’s exploits at the bridge table are legend. Her record in both national and international competition shines brightly. Just as impressive, however, are Rose’s contributions to the game itself.
One of the many ways in which Rose gives to bridge is through her “Breakfast with the Stars.” In San Diego, Tuesday morning (Dec 1) saw a glittering array of elite players dining with eager participants. As everyone enjoyed a sumptuous buffet, bridge stars Bob and Petra Hamman, Lisa and David Berkowitz, Eddie Wold, Nancy Passell, John Mohan, Jill Meyers, Mark Itabashi, Daniela von Arnim, Alan Sontag, Sabine Auken, Ron Smith, Jo Anna Stansby regaled their tables with bridge stories from their illustrious careers. At the host table, hostess Rose and Kyle Larsen answered questions ranging from “how do you play…?” to inquiries about bridge feats.
With proceeds from Rose’s “Stars” going to Junior Bridge, the breakfast creates as much good as it does fun and excitement. Thank you, Rose – along with all your stars burning so bright!
