ACBL Grand Life Master John Solodar – a leading figure in the bridge scene in New York City for decades – died March 25 at the age of 76. A Bermuda Bowl champion (1981), Solodar also earned a bronze medal in the Rosenblum Teams in 1990. In ACBL events, Solodar won the Nail Life Master Pairs in 1968 playing with Henry Bethe. He had four second-place finishes in NABC contests: the Reisinger BAM Teams (1974), the Spingold KO Teams (1976, 1980) and the Mitchell Open BAM Teams (1983).
