Club of the Year Award
The Jane Johnson Club of the Year Award is given each year to the One-Star, Two-Star and Three-Star Bridge Clubs that best demonstrate the community spirit, positive attitude and extraordinary commitment to service that Jane Johnson embodied. One award is given in each star category.
Criteria
1. The club is a real part of the community. Its membership does more than play bridge.
2. The club works as a family. The members are responsible for the health of the club. They share the duties of directing, cleaning up, scoring, partnering and hosting.
3. The club members actively promote the club through good advertising, word-of-mouth and frequent invitations to newcomers.
4. The club provides services to new and needy members, such as transportation assistance, phone calls to missing members and welcoming committees.
How to Enter
Club members must nominate their club by submitting an article that explains how the club meets the criteria outlined above. The article must be signed by a minimum of six (6) club members. Please check with the club manager to see which star level the manager has applied for before submitting your nomination.
All nominations must be received by the ACBL Club and Member Services Department no later than December 31, 2004. ACBL will make the final decision for winners in each category.
