Bridge experience: I learned bridge in college, took the familiar hiatus while raising a young family, and returned to the game, duplicate, and ACBL in 2005. My high point as a player came in 2015-2016, when I held simultaneous titles as Flight B Grand National Teams Champion and B North American Pairs Champion.

Volunteer service: Cincinnati Bridge Association (Unit 124) President, 2011-14. District 11 Tournament Coordinator, 2011-present. Cincinnati Flying Pig Regional Chair, 2015-present. District 11 Board member, First Alternate to ACBL Board of Directors, 2011-present.

Other: ACBL-certified Director and Club Manager. I currently direct several games at the Cincinnati Bridge Center, but my real passion is teaching our great game, and I currently juggle 6-7 classes each week.

Career/professional activities: Department of Psychiatry, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine — Director of Legal Didactics and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program, 2001 – Present. University of Cincinnati College of Law — Adjunct Professor, 1998 – Present. Xavier University — Adjunct Professor, 2009 – Present. I also write and update about a dozen legal practice manuals annually on the subjects of state and federal evidence and civil procedure law.

Education: B.A., Yale University (Psychology), J.D., University of Cincinnati

Hobbies and interests: Co-founder and current member of what is almost certainly the longest continuous rotisserie (fantasy) basketball league anywhere (1988-present); baseball history.

Family: My wife, Robin Totsch, and I were married in 1993, and we have three bridge-playing and tournament-caddying children, Zach, Isaac, and Elenya. I am commonly known among junior bridge players as simply “Isaac’s Dad,” as he is very active in the USBF Junior Program and was part of the U21 team representing the US in Italy at the World Youth Teams Championship in Italy in August 2016.
